About me:
I attended Bastyr University where I earned my Masters degree in Nutrition and Clinical Health Psychology in 2019. I have experience providing therapy in an intensive outpatient setting, where I learned how to work with a wide range of mental health issues from anxiety and depression to addiction and disordered eating. In private practice I work with adults helping remove barriers to taking action towards what is important to them.
In therapy the client is the main focus, so I meet my clients on equal footing wherever they are. You are the expert on yourself, and the dynamic of the therapeutic relationship will reflect that. I practice using a blend of modalities, but my therapeutic outlook draws heavily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This means that the bulk of our work together will revolve around moving toward your values and developing the psychological flexibility and willingness to move with and through the pain which is unavoidable when pursuing things that are important to us.
My areas of special interest are broad and varied and include our relationship to technology, building community and solidarity in an atomized society, work/life balance, men’s issues, emotional literacy, and more.
